Celebrating 10 years of HENRY
HENRY is 10 years old! We recently marked this major milestone – a decade of supporting parents give their children a healthy, happy start in life – with two exciting and very special events.
On 26 November, there was an evening drinks reception at the House of Lords hosted by Baroness Royale. We invited many of those who have been involved with HENRY over the years including key commissioners, academic partners, funders, practitioners, volunteers and parents. We heard some very moving testimonials from parents about how HENRY programmes have benefited them and their families and changed their lives – a fantastic reminder of why we do what we do.
The next day we teamed up with First Steps Nutrition Trust to host a conference ‘Stepping up for a healthy start’ on how we can give young children the best start in life across key themes including oral health, physical activity, healthy weight and nutrition. More than 240 health and early years practitioners attended the conference as well as many partner exhibitors including Best Beginnings, the Institute for Health Visiting, The Breastfeeding Network and many more.
