HENRY Parent Champions

HENRY is part of the Better Start Bradford programme run by Bradford Trident and funded by the National Lottery. HENRY delivers training for local health and early years professionals as well as group and 1-to-1 programmes for parents. Parent Champions support and promote healthy lifestyles for families with children 0-4 years in the local community.

As a Champion you will help to create support networks for parents. Champions usually give around three hours of their time each week, or more if they would like to. There’s lots to do, from encouraging parents to take part in a programme, finding families who might benefit from 1-to-1 support and keeping in touch with families who have taken part in a HENRY group programme to support ongoing healthy lifestyle changes.

Champions can also get involved in promotional events and organising and running healthy lifestyle activities in local communities such as occasional fun activities in a local park, children’s outdoor treasure hunts, a regular buggy-push-walking group or a weekly toddler group with a focus on health.  We are happy to help you to develop your own ideas and to support those of local communities. Champions receive three free training sessions as well as on-going support and supervision.
