Become a Volunteer Peer Supporter
Support Parents. Build Community. Make a Difference.
- Are you a parent or carer living in City & Hackney who wants to give back to the community?
- Do you remember what it felt like during pregnancy and the early days of parenthood?
We are looking for enthusiastic and compassionate volunteers to become Peer Supporters, offering emotional, social and practical support to pregnant women and new families in the community.
By becoming a Peer Supporter, you’ll help parents feel confident, connected and informed while making sure they can access the right support when they need it most.
What Does a Peer Supporter Do?
As a Peer Supporter, you’ll be paired one-to-one with a pregnant woman or new parent to offer friendly guidance and reassurance. This could involve:
- Providing emotional and social support during pregnancy and after birth.
- Sharing practical information on topics such as infant feeding, maternal well-being and babies’ development.
- Helping families connect with local services and community resources.
- Offering support via phone, meet-ups, or community sessions in a way that suits both you and the family.
This is a flexible and rewarding role where your time and experience can make a real difference to someone’s parenting journey.
Why Become a Peer Supporter?

✔ Gain accredited training in listening, communication, and family support.

This service is designed to increase confidence, independence, and connection within the local community—helping parents feel less isolated and more supported in their journey.
