As bolognese sauce, with changes
1 tsp mild chilli powder
1 small (210g) tin red kidney beans (in water), drained

Follow the recipe for the bolognese sauce, using the chilli powder instead of dried herbs and balsamic vinegar. Add the kidney beans 10 minutes before the end of the cooking time.
Serving suggestions
- Serve with boiled rice or a baked potato and a salad
- Chilli goes really well with a tomato salsa or guacamole dip on the side
- Adding beans to the cottage pie and chilli con carne recipes means you can use less minced beef, or if you follow the recipes as they are you may find you’ll have some leftovers to freeze
